Ciolk, McHaney run one-two; Kristensen paces girls team
From Coach Atwood:
On Saturday the Cross Country team brought home the hardware, winning the Division 2 trophies at the Ludington Invitational. The boys team beat 2nd place Grant by 7 points. Leading the charge was Nathan Ciolk who won the race with a time of 18:11. Tristan McHaney was three seconds behind for second place. Our remaining scorers were Kobe Canning, Christian Ringler, Nik Parks finishing 10th, 19th, and 20th respectively. Pack running was on display as Carson Foondle, Malachi Graves, Sam Venema, Jaden Van Dam, and Ashton Byle all finished within 30 seconds of each other. All the boys posted season best times, with Nathan, Carson, Tristan, Jaden, and Sam running personal best times. Ian was most improved for taking 6:10 off his race time in Newaygo.
The girls demonstrated extreme tenacity and grit to best Holton by 15 points. Stine Kristensen finished 3rd, followed by Alexus Richmond (5th), Naomi Thompson (6th) and Andrea Feldpausch (7th). Jolena Deaton sealed the win with her outstanding effort in 21st place. Gracie Richards, CeCe Rodriguez, Chloe Higgs, and Allie Rodriguez gave it everything they had for a remarkable race. Annie, Stine and Allie achieved personal best times, while Jolena, CeCe, Grace, Alexus, and Naomi had their best times of the season.
Some of our teammates ran two miles, instead of the usual 5K. Each of them ran their fastest two mile split on the season. Congratulations to Adam Bulk, Zane Keith, Lillie Keith, Parker Karnes, and Sydnee Ochs.
Nice job, runners! White Cloud is PROUD of you!
