 Photos By Bobbie Cruzan Softball Morley Stanwood 11-15 White Cloud 1-8 Mackenzie Meldrum shut down the Indians for 5 innings holding them to a single hit while her teammates were building a 7-0 lead. Finally in the top of the 6th the Cloud got on the board when Emily Hodges ripped a triple and 2 batters later came home courtesy of Jorga Baker. The ‘Hawks sealed the deal in the bottom of the 6th scoring 4 times to bring the opener to an early end. In an error-filled nightcap White Cloud jumped out early plating 3 in the top of the first and adding a run in the second to take a 4-1 lead. Morley stormed back in the 3rd to tie the game but the visitors rallied for 4 in the top of the 4th to forge ahead. The lead proved short-lived as Morley sent 6 players across the plate in the bottom half of the inning and blanked the Indians for the final 3 innings to gain the sweep. Makayla Felos collected 3 RBI’s while Baker, Ceara Bode, Kiara Edwards and Kadence Nickoloff scored 2 runs apiece. Kara Davis toed the slab for four innings but didn’t get much help on defense as Morley sent home 7 unearned runs courtesy of 10 Indian errors.  Baseball Morley Stanwood 5-6 White Cloud 3-11 The Mohawks nipped the Indians in the opener before the Cloud unloaded for 11 runs in the ‘cap to earn the split Leading the team in hitting with 3 hits each were Alex Cruzan and Mason Ruether, collecting 2 hits each were Sam Venema, Landyn McGowan, and KJ Strait. Cruzan,Ruether and Cam Wolters took care of the mound work for WC. The loss in the opener ended a 6 game win streak for the Cloud who have put together an impressive 17-5 record this season including posting an 11-3 conference mark
