White Cloud 11-6 Hesperia 2-4
In softball action Tuesday night, the 5th inning proved to be the”charm”, as the Lady Indians swept the visiting Hesperia Panthers. Game 1 saw both teams go scoreless for the first 3 innings. With both teams tied at 2 heading into the bottom of the 5th, the girls put up 9 runs in their half of the inning led by a grand slam off the bat of Madison Smith. Elexis Plotts had 2 hits and 2 RBI’s, Hannah Brown had 2 hits with a 3B, Olivia Bowman had 2 hits with a 2B and 2 RBI’s, while Madeleine Seabrook, Hallie Schulz, Allison Schulz and Cierra Kneeshaw each collected 2 hits and an RBI apiece enroute to a 11-2 win. Hallie got the win striking out 5. The 2nd game was a see-saw battle for the lead with Hesperia going up by 2, WC coming back with 3 in the 4th, Hesperia answering with 2 more in the top of the 5th and the Lady Indians taking the lead for good with 3 runs of their own in the bottom of the 5th for a 6-4 victory. Elexis Plotts led the hitting getting 2 hits with a 2B and 2 RBI’s and Hannah Brown added a 3B. Kara Davis picked up the win from the circle.
