McHaney tops the field. Thompson leads Cloud girls
Photos by Joan Ludtke The White Cloud Cross Country team competed at the Mason County fairgrounds for the Kelder Poured Walls Invitational. Once again, our boys proved that paper rankings are only projections when they finished three points behind the meet winner, Mason County Central. Our predicted fourth place was shattered when Tristan McHaney won the race with a time of 17:27, putting him on the record board for top 15 times. He was followed by Nate Ciolk in 4th place, Kobe Canning 8th, Terry Trendel 18th, Nik Parks 21st, Christian Ringler 24th, Carson Foondle 30th and Malachi Graves 35th. The girls team finished in 6th place with outstanding efforts from Naomi Thompson 15th, Annie Feldpausch 17th, Stine Kristensen 22nd, Grace Richards 44th, Chloe Higgs 46th, CeCe Rodriguez 47th, and Allie Rodriguez 48th. The boys reserve had a third place finish with help from the explosive last mile of Jaden VanDam. He finished 4th, Sam Venema 8th, Keagan Kailing 14th, Christian Moomey 18th, Ian Pierce 23rd, Zak Buttleman 28th, and Zane Keith 29th. Setting Personal Best times were Zak, Nate, Carson, Zane, Tristan, Christian M, Nik, Ian, Terry, Jaden, Sam, Annie, Chloe, Grace, and Allie. Season best times were set by CeCe, Naomi, Kobe, Malachi, Keagan, Christian R.
