![]() Officers Memorial Service Brings Crowd To Marshall Park Article and Photos submitted by: Lisa Rau - PinPoint Photography For me it was such an honor to witness this stirring ceremony. The chaplain’s beautiful prayer, the messages delivered by the speakers and the rich sound of the pipers combined with a sunlit spring evening to make for an impressive event. The men and women who gathered in tribute to their fallen comrades Thursday night are in a class of their own. Sharing a duty to protect and serve these officers are soldiers in the front lines of the struggle to keep our communities safe. As I looked out over the substantial crowd who turned out in support of the officers, I wondered who among them had been touched by the lives lost in pursuit of public safety. I thought of how many stories there must be in this gathering of citizens who turned out to show their respect for the uniforms worn by those tasked with protecting us. And how important it is to pause, even for a short time, to remember the sacrifices made by the men and women who are chosen to wear the badge. We are truly blessed to have these officers in our community. Lisa Rau whose photos accompany this article is the owner/operator of PinPoint Photography.
Lisa also shares the rather unique role of being married to a police officer, so we asked her to convey some of her thoughts as she witnessed the annual ceremony held at Marshall Memorial Park. Comments are closed.
