 NCSD Updates Info On Shooting The Newaygo County Sheriff’s Department released the following statement today updating information regarding last week’s fatal shooting in Lilley Township: The victim in the incident has been identified as Timothy M. Shoemaker, 55 years old, from Kentwood. The suspect has been identified as Jason Douglas Verhulst, 41 years old, from Wyoming. Jason Verhulst was arraigned on November 3, 2016 in the... ...Newaygo County 78" District Court for the charges of 1" Degree Murder and Felony Firearm. Verhulst is currently being held in the Newaygo County Jail without a bond.
Detectives from the Newaygo County Sheriff's Office and Michigan State Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. No other details are being released at this time.
