got the call. A fire had been reported at 210 John Street in Garfield Township just west of M-37.
“I was right up the street so I was...
...here in about 15 seconds,” said Wolford. “I had already called for Grant then when I arrived on the scene I asked for Fremont as well.
“The car port was fully involved and the house was half involved. The fire progressed quickly but the three adults inside were able to get out to safety. They reported heavy fire inside the house as they were escaping. Smoke detectors alerted the occupants.”
Firefighters from the three departments were able to extinguish the blaze but the dwelling suffered extensive damage.
There was a total loss of the residence and its contents according to Chief Wolford who added there were no injuries reported but one occupant was evaluated by Life EMS.
The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time.
