The Tamarac info sessions are 9:30 a.m. – 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. – 4 p.m. “Our dietary team at Gerber Memorial strongly believes that great tasting food can also be good for you, and National Nutrition Month is an opportunity for us to share tips and information with members of our community,” said Janiece Zahrt, Gerber Memorial nutrition services manager. “We want to show that delicious, nutritious food can be easy to prepare and affordable, using ingredients that are commonly available. We want to open our doors to everyone in our community so they can come and find out more about satisfying, delicious and nutritious meals that can also help improve our health.” Small meaningful changes in daily eating habits can make a real difference. Gerber Memorial’s registered dietitians will share information about dietary guidelines, how to get more fruits and vegetables into people’s diet, sensible substitutions, portion control and how to read and interpret food labels correctly. At the Sullivan Street Café, Zahrt’s team will also hand out recipe cards for the featured dish and be available to discuss nutrition on March 7 and March 21.
