An event to bring down that stress, a bit of a hike and a little craft show practice.
Alright it’s a bit colder and we’ve even had a little shake out of some white stuff recently but it looks to be one of those epic mid autumn weekends and in between raking (unless one has decided to call on Little Mitten Landscaping to make a clean sweep of the yard) there are still things to enjoy out there and here are a few. Feeling a little on the stressed side these days? Well, toss in the fact that the holidays are looming and as usual coming to us like a runaway train maybe a little self care is in order. CBD Store of Michigan is hosting The Healthy De-Stress Event on Saturday Nov. 6th from Noon-1:30 This is a free event open to all comers with Jules Carpenter (Certified Breathwork Facilitator, Yoga Instructor, and Occupational Therapist), Jenny Bogen LMT. (Certified Cupping and Massage Therapist), and Rod Glupker (Certified Cannabinoid Professional, CBD, Natural Herbs and Essential Oils). Here one can learn some practices and tools to de-stress, relax and unwind before the holidays. Topics taught include Nourishing, Relaxing, Meditation, Breathing, Self Massage, Partner Check it out at 37 East Main Street in Fremont. Did we mention it is free? It looks to be a great weekend for a morning hike and the Spirit of the Woods Chapter of the North Country Trail Association is inviting folks to join them in doing a section of the NCT on Saturday, November 6 at 10:00 am at the Nichols North trailhead. The distance will be about seven miles on an out and back hike and the hike leader is Gary Hearing. Please RSVP to Gary at (231) 233-9068 or email him at [email protected] The trail peeps advise all to wear bright colors since it is after all, bow season for deer and small game hunting season. Also free. Looking to get in a little practice before the nearly world famous Jingle Mingle arrives next week? Well head down to Sparta’s Holy Family Church for their Holiday Bazaar featuring 20+ arts and craft booths, a food truck or two, door prizes, raffle and holiday music throughout the event. Saturday 9am-2pm at 425 State St in Sparta and, once again, free. Well, unless you buy something of course. And want to take a drive south? The Holiday Gift Show at Meijer Gardens is Saturday from 9am-5pm. This season’s curated lineup includes 30 local and regional artists, crafters, authors, and vendors chosen for their limited-edition home décor, gardening gear, jewelry, books, toys, culinary wares, eats, and wines. Admission free if you’re a member, usual entrance fee ($14.50 adults, $11 students and seniors) if you’re not. And if planning ahead a bit do not forget the Clydesdales are coming to Fremont this week! Here’s the skinny: https://www.nearnorthnow.com/news/honoring-those-who-served
