Edye Evans Hyde and Mike Hyde perform at the Dogwood Center on Friday, May 17 at 7:30 p.m. in the Black Box. The married music duo specialize in jazz and light pop. After performing for years with various sized ensembles including small combos, big bands, and orchestras, Edye and Mike are excited to bring their voice and guitar duo to the Black Box. Be ready to bask in the comfort of classic gems from the Great American Songbook and choice selections from various other genres. Edye Evans Hyde is a West Michigan vocalist and theatre actor. She has been singing all genres of music over the years, but is also known for her jazz interpretations as well as use of scat singing. She has used her voice for narration, commercial work, teaching, presenting speeches and workshops. Edye is also the founder of Ebony Road Players, a theater company that provides a platform for underrepresented voices in Grand Rapids. Over the years, she has shared her music with people across the country and around the world, including China and Italy. Join us for a great night in the Dogwood Black Box!
