Wednesday Soccer: Pack, Tigers Win
Packers Fight Off Coyotes For 4-1 Win
When the Packers arrived in Coyote Country they found poor field conditions and gusting winds and knew this match was going to be a struggle from the beginning.
Neither team offered much of an attack during the first half until Bre Harris broke the scoreless game with 4 minutes remaining in the half to give Fremont the 1-0 lead they would hold at intermission.
Just two minutes into the second half Harris scored again off an assist from Samantha Schmidt. Reed City's Brooke Voleker responded 13 minutes later and closed the gap to 2-1 but with twenty minutes to play in the game Fremont junior Holly Kortge finished a crossed ball from Natalie Jamieson. Jamieson also assisted on the final goal of the match setting up Alena Christensen to end the scoring at 4-1.
Fremont outshot Reed City 7-4. Abby Pell from Fremont grabbed 3 saves and Katelin Reed from Reed City made 3 saves as well. Fremont is currently 5-1 overall and 5-1 in conference play. Reed City is 1-5 overall and 1-5 in conference play.
