The Packers held off a furious 4th quarter rally by the Warriors to secure the CSAA Gold win in a low scoring affair ar Remus Friday night.
“We had complete control of the game going into the 4th quarter leading 20 to 8 but poor free throw shooting and a few clutch 3 pointers by Chip Hills tied the game at 26 with 30 seconds to play,” said Packer Head Coach John Krim. “Bre Harris took the ball the length of the court and...
...made a nice floater in the lane to put us back on top with just over 20 seconds to play. Chip Hills had a shot at the buzzer to tie the game but missed.”
Harris proved to be a master thief during the game pilfering a school record 15 steals and her dominating defensive play in the backcourt proved to be frustrating for the Warrior ball-handlers.
To add to her contribution in the inaugural conference game for the Pack Harris canned 13 points to lead her team in scoring.
Hali Garcia fired in a half dozen points for Fremont and Anna Patenge proved to be a force on the glass pulling down 11 boards to go with her 4 points.
The Packers now stand at 2-1 on the season and will travel to Sparta for a non-conference game Tuesday before resuming league play in a home matchup against Reed City Friday.
