There’s a Logging Virtual Reality game by Husqvarna called Limberjack.
And while the concept might be welcome to the more sedentary lumberjack wannabees, to truly test your Bunyanesque skills it takes a bit more than slapping on a pair of fantasy glasses.
The Newaygo Logging Fest, coming our way Labor Day weekend, has a special segment for all the folks who have envisioned themselves as potential lumberjacks or perhaps lumberjills.
Beginning at 10am Saturday, September 2nd during the heart of the Festival the Amateur Lumberjack Contest will give those who possess enough moxie to put their skills on display an opportunity to compete in a number of logging related activities.
All equipment is provided and registration is same day.
This might be the chance to channel your inner logger, the woodsman (or woodswoman) who erupts whenever a hand grips a chainsaw. It will produce a great story (with later enhancement of course) and long remain part of the family lore.
And another great reason that goes beyond the possibility of evolving into a local legend?
All who compete will be eligible for the drawing that will put a Fiskars Axe in the hands of two competitors with a hatchet going to a third courtesy of the generous folks at Cronk Hardware.
What could be better?
