With his family, friends, teammates, coaches and school staff looking on Grant soccer standout Dakota Arsenault signed a letter of intent to attend Northwood University in Midland.
Arsenault states he chose Northwood U. because it fits with his career objectives as well as his soccer goals.
“I love to travel and have learned a lot about business from working at Kent Power so I want to blend the best of both worlds and go into ...
...international business,” he said during the celebration surrounding his signing held at Grant High School. “Northwood is a great business school and has an international business program.”
“I also like that it’s a small college and they have an unbelievable soccer program.”
The Timberwolves who compete in the GLIAC posted an 11-4-3 record last season including 8-0-1 at home.
“Dakota is a great leader on and off the field,” said Marcello Santana who coached him during his first two varsity seasons. "He’s the kind of player the other players trust and look to in game situations.”
"Dakota is a highly skilled player who stays calm and never gets rattled,” added Tiger Varsity Coach Ron Wight.
Arsenault who loves fishing and watersports in his spare time has played travel soccer for a number of years with the Premier team out of Rockford and recalls falling in love with the sport at an early age.
“I just really liked all the running and the teamwork involved. It was just a perfect fit for me.”
“I give a lot of credit to my coaches both at school and the travel teams,” he added. “Without their help and instruction none of this would have happened.
